The concept of liquid waterproofing has been around for 200 years. Original systems began with natural bitumen progressing to today’s complex monolithic fully bonded liquid based coatings. The liquid once cured forms a rubber like waterproof membrane with elastic compounds capable of stretching and returning to its original shape with no damage. Many of these systems such as Sika MTC 18 are usually reinforced with a secondary material such as fibreglass to provide additional tensile strength.
Can be applied over traditional roofing materials such as felt, asphalt and concrete.
